Haris Meidanis has over 30 years of professional experience in law, arbitration, mediation, private international law, European Union law, international transactions and dispute resolution. He is the Managing Partner of Meidanis Seremetakis & Associates law firm in Athens and serves as Director of the Athens Mediation and Arbitration Organisation (EODID).
He acts as an arbitrator and mediator in commercial cases and has extensive experience in international arbitration and mediation matters, international transactions and disputes. He is also Director of Studies-Mediator training at EODID and has previously served as Chief Editor-Mediation Arbitration at Nomiki Bibliothiki Publishing House.
Haris Meidanis has held a number of senior legal, advisory and governance positions in Greece. He has served as a Member of the Supervisory Board at the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations, Legal Counsel to the Minister at the Ministry of Economy and Legal Counsel to the Minister at the Ministry of Development. He has also practised as an attorney-at-law and partner at major Greek law firms and worked as a foreign lawyer at Holman Fenwick & Willan in London.
He has significant academic and teaching experience. He is a Teaching Fellow at Nomiki Bibliothiki College and the University of Economics in Athens, and has previously taught at the University of Athens, Bilkent University, Panteion University, IST-University of Hertfordshire and EIPA in Luxembourg. From 2004 to 2017, he provided training to judges in EU accession countries on EU private international law and institutional EU law.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a member of the Institute of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris and a member of the Greek Branch of the ICC. He has extensive training as a trainer in mediation, arbitration and private international law, as well as professional training in international arbitration, mediation, negotiation and general principles of accounting.
Haris Meidanis is the author of over 60 publications in mediation, arbitration, private international law and EU law. He is also the author of three books: Public Policy in EU Private International Law, Mediation: Comparative and International Aspects, and The Private International Law of Commercial Mediation.
